Rylan Conley, 15, Wins a Trip to the Masters Through First Tee
First Tee’s Rylan Conley, 15, won a trip to the Masters through our Trip to the Masters Award, which was a writing competition conducted in 2018. Due to changes and restrictions the past few years, he is finally able to attend this once-in-a-lifetime experience in Augusta, GA. Here is what Rylan had to say about his favorite First Tee Core Value, Perseverance.
“I learned perseverance a year ago while playing a round of golf with my father and grandfather. We were playing at Plum Lake Golf Course and I had just double bogeyed four holes in a row but my dad said to keep with it so I did. I went and parred the next three holes and I even got a birdie. After that round, I noticed that I should always persevere no matter how poorly I’m playing or what the conditions are and just keep playing. Perseverance helps me greatly on the golf course and it pushes me to do my best every time.” – Rylan Conley (September, 2018)
**We are excited to announce that First Tee’s Trip to the Masters Award will be back for next year’s tournament! Applicants must be a First Tee participant between the ages of 12 and 16 years old. More information, along with application guidelines, will be available this summer.
