Why Golf?

Experiences are our greatest teacher. First Tee believes in developing the ones that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next. Through our personal growth and junior golf programs, we see kids’ build self confidence, inspiring more active participation in leadership opportunities and events, community involvement, and college scholarships.

After School Program

Our after school program provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment for kids from partner schools to learn, grow, and thrive after the school day ends. Students participate in activities designed to develop character, build life skills, and promote healthy habits—both on and off the golf course.

Each session blends:

  • Golf Skill Development – age-appropriate instruction and practice to help kids learn the game, improve technique, and build confidence.
  • Life Skills & Character Building – lessons that tie directly to First Tee’s 5 Key Commitments: pursuing goals, growing through challenge, collaborating with others, building positive self-identity, and using good judgment.
  • Enrichment Activities – interactive experiences in teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, helping participants apply what they learn beyond golf.

Schools in the program participate in 10-week sessions, giving students the opportunity to connect with peers, strengthen their skills, and carry forward valuable lessons that extend well beyond the course.

Note: The after school program is currently for partner schools only and individual after school programming is not available for registration at this time. For golf instruction opportunities during the academic year please contact Nick Martinson, Sr. Director of Golf & Academic Development.
